Wedding Budgets Templates FAQ
Are you going to use our budget template to plan a wedding? It is how you can cope with this task:
- Determine your budget for the entire wedding and add the amount in a separate cell in our wedding budget template in Google Sheets or Excel.
- Categorize all expenses. Each template already has example categories, but you can replace them with those relevant to your wedding.
- Enter the amounts in the table. Most of our templates have sections such as Budget (plan), Actual Budget, Paid (how much you have already spent), Outstanding (how much is left), Due Date, and Notes.
- You will automatically receive the Total Spent, Total Remaining, and other values based on the entered data.
- Use your completed template. Update expenses if something changes and track them.
To start using the template, just go to its page and click Edit in Google Sheets or Download in Excel. After that, you can immediately begin filling out the spreadsheet.
To ensure your wedding goes according to plan, you need to compose a budget in advance. Here's what you need to include: rent of the venue for the ceremony and reception, catering services, payment for photographer's services, expenses for musical accompaniment, decorations, and wedding dresses. Also, don't forget about the services of a makeup artist and hairdresser, a cake, and additional expenses, such as tips.
It is worth breaking down all expenses into the estimated amount, actual expenses, and the remaining to make it easier to manage your budget. This way, you can monitor each spending and if your budget is being met. Also, add a column for unforeseen expenses to avoid problems on the wedding day.
To make it easier for you, TheGoodocs offers dozens of wedding budget templates for Google Sheets and Excel. Our templates already include all categories and will automatically calculate the remaining budget. Choose the appropriate option on this page to save time and make the process easier.
You can create a wedding budget table in Excel from scratch, and we'll show you how:
- Create a new table in Excel and name it.
- Next, set up the spreadsheet structure. We recommend making column headers in row 1. For example, category (here you’ll type the categories of expenses, from transportation to venue rental), planned amount (how much you can allocate for each category), actual amount (how much you’ve already spent), the difference (you can set formula for automatic calculation), and notes (here you can add contacts, due dates, etc.).
- Next, in the first column, enter all the categories of wedding expenses.
- Add a total row at the bottom to calculate the overall plan and actual expenses using the SUM formula.
- Additionally, you can highlight in red the amounts that went over budget and in green where there are still funds left (this will make it easier to visualize the data).
If you don't want to waste time on all these steps, then download a ready-made wedding budget spreadsheet in Excel on our website!
All formulas, visualization, convenient structure, and additional elements are already included in our templates. All you have to do is fill in the table with the current numbers. Use our examples for free.
